Officer Sasaki joined the Woodfin Police Department in 2018.  Previously, he had served in the United States Army before attending Basic Law Enforcement Training at Haywood Community College in Waynesville.  Since joining the Department, Officer Sasaki has excelled in his patrol duties and has even become a certified Field Training Officer.  He is also the Departmental coordinator for the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program.  Officer Sasaki was chosen to become the Officer of the Year by his fellow officers by anonymous ballot.
